How To Make Delicious Shahi Tukda?


Shahi Tukda or Shahi Tukra, may be a delicious very fashionable rich dessert. It is made from bread is deep fried in ghee till golden. Then garnish with Rabri, nuts and mawa/khoya.

INGREDIENTS :




  • 6 white bread slices
  • tablespoons pure ghee
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3-4 threads, crushed
  • 1 cup crumbled khoya/mawa
  • ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • 15 cashew nuts, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cudpahnuts
  • A few drops of rose essence
  • 8-10 almonds, chopped
  • 1 sheet edible silver foil




METHOD :
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350F/Gas Mark 4.



2. Remove the crust from bread slices and cut each slice diagonally into two parts.
 Arrange them on a baking tray, then the brush, ghee on them and toast them within the preheated oven for twenty minutes or till they become golden and crispy.



3. Meanwhile heat the milk with sugar and ron during a non-stick pan. Reduce heat and continue to simmer
for twelve to fifteen minutes or till it is reduced to three-fourtn its original volume.



4. Add the crumbled khoya, cardamom powder and half the cashew nuts and half the cudpahnuts Remove from the heat and set aside to cool. Add the rose essence.



5. Take the bread out of the oven and spoon thickened milk on them.
Sprinkled the almonds, remaining cashew nuts and bake for until fifteen minutes.



6. Decorate with silver foil and serve warm or cold.
